OUR DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS

Our preferred providers, including surgeons, doctors, dentists, hospitals and physical therapists, have been thoroughly screened and qualified to assure that you receive superior medical care in state-of-the-art facilities by the most highly skilled medical practitioners.

Clinica De la CruzThe quality of care is essential.  Our agents continually research and investigate all healthcare providers to assure you of a wise decision before the airlines tickets are purchased.  We provide full-service medical tourism solutions with handpicked hospitals and doctors that make affordable surgeries as stress free as possible.

Jessica Anderson, associate editor of Kiplinger, the trusted personal finance magazine, writes:  ... Skeptical about going abroad for medical care? The truth is that foreign hospitals often rival or surpass those found in the U.S. Jonathan Edelheit, vice-president of insurance group OptiMed Health/United Group Programs, draws an analogy between five-star hotels and Motel 6 -- with U.S. hospitals more like Motel 6. "Overseas hospitals are often nicer than ours, and their equipment is as good or better, as are their doctors, many of whom trained in the States before going overseas," he says. "The average American has the impression that we have the world's best health care. But it's possible to find better care over there than you would get here."

Cosmetic surgery, dental work and holistic therapy, described as elective, will always be a more cost-effective choice in Guatemala.  More well-informed patients will travel abroad for treatments which are not available in the US, such as hip resurfacing, which is for most patients, a far-superior, longer-lasting and less-expensive alternative to the traditional hip replacement still practiced in the US.  This procedure has been performed for more than a decade throughout Asia and Europe, where hip resurfacing techniques, materials and instrumentation have been perfected, and the procedure is routine.

Communication is the key to success, particularly with respect to ensuring positive patient outcomes.  You may be astounded to find that the doctor will give you his personal cell phone number and be available to respond to your concerns and questions as they arise.  Rest assured that your doctor speaks fluent English to thoroughly explain treatments, alternatives and recovery instructions.  We use only the most trusted pharmacies to be certain that prescribed pharmaceuticals and OTC medications are of superior quality.  All telephone and email communications will be confirmed and compiled by your agent, and available for your inspection in one complete, easy-to-understand file.

Medical Marijuana Therapy

Medical Marijuana

Marijuana, or cannabis, as it is more appropriately called, has been part of humanity's medicine chest for almost as long as history has been recorded.  Modern research suggests that cannabis is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications.  These include pain relief -- particularly of neuropathic pain (pain from nerve damage) -- nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant, specifically for patients suffering from HIV or dementia.  Emerging research suggests that marijuana's medicinal properties may protect the body against some types of malignant tumors and are neuro-protective.  Of all the negative consequences of marijuana prohibition, none is as tragic as the denial of medicinal cannabis to the tens of thousands of patients who could benefit from its therapeutic use.  Currently, more than 60 U.S. and international health organizations support granting immediate legal access to medicinal marijuana to patients under a physician's supervision.
